INDIAN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION @ UGA
! ! NAMASTE ! !
Indian Students Association (ISA) is a student organization under the International Student Life (ISL) supporting the Indian students at UGA in Athens. ISA comprises of Indian students, faculty, and families residing in Athens. The members of the association enjoy various Indian festivals and activities and become an integral part of this closely knit Indian community.
ISA hosts several events which help the students portray their talents and also celebrate India’s rich heritage. We also participate in various international events held on campus such as The International Street Festival and International Week through which we highlight our diverse Indian culture. We always encourage ideas and suggestions from every member so that it helps us improve in the best possible way. We look for your encouragement and support in our endeavor to make ISA a strong and an all-inclusive organization.
"It is my great pleasure to welcome you to University of Georgia Indian Students Association. The ISA represent the diverse culture of India at UGA and the greater Athens area. We strive to bring together the Indian students and the greater Indian community at UGA through events like Fall Fling, Diwali Night, and India Nite. We also have a presence at various international cultural events like the International Street Festival, Fall Fair, and International Coffee Hour at UGA. These events are made possible by the hard work and dedication of the ISA committee members and volunteers. I feel proud to serve as the Faculty Advisor of this wonderful group of Indian youths and wish them the very best in your future endeavors. I hope that you have a wonderful experience during your time in Athens."
“Coming together is a beginning, Keeping together is progress, Working together is success.”
We, the newly formed ISA committee for the year 2017-2018, came together with a collective theme of working towards unifying and strengthening the Indian student community at UGA. To achieve this, we believe that the support and encouragement from the bigger Indian community in Athens is crucial. In this year, we are planning to develop a stronger bond among students by expanding on the current activities and promoting events to facilitate interaction between students and community. For incoming students, we will be the go-to student support unit and will work towards making their transition easy and smooth. We hope to receive your love and support throughout this process. Thank you all for the continued support towards ISA in the past. We look forward to a year filled with fun and excitement.
